Goal of the Week update: Which player holds a huge lead in Week 19 race?

AT&T Goal of the Week: Week 19

Marco Donadel’s first MLS goal was one to remember, with the Montreal midfielder bombing a long-range strike into the upper 90 then climbing into the stands to seal the tally with a kiss for his daughter in the Impact’s win against Columbus on Saturday.

Donadel looks like he’ll get to celebrate the goal all over again on Friday, with the Italian veteran holding a commanding lead in the AT&T Goal of the Week standings with voting quickly coming to a close.

Donadel’s strike currently holds 65.26 percent of the vote, over 50 percentage points ahead of second-place Toronto FC star Sebastian Giovinco. New York City FC Designated Player David Villa is in third with 8.03 percent for his free kick goal against TFC, while Chicago’s Jason Johnson and the Red Bulls’ Lloyd Sam round out the standings with 7.52 percent and 5.74 percent, respectively.

While Donadel looks close to a sure bet to take home the honors, there’s still time for you to weigh in on the race. Which goal is your favorite? Vote now – the winner will be announced on Friday.

Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursdays. For complete coverage of the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week – including an archive of all of this season’s nominees and winners – click here
