AT&T Goal of the Week: Week 2

Two Designated Players are dueling it out for the second AT&T MLS Goal of the Week award of the 2015 season, with San Jose forward Innocent Emeghara holding a slight lead on New York City FC star David Villa heading into the final day of voting.


Emeghara’s wonderful goal in the 10-man Earthquakes’ shocking 3-1 win at Seattle has garnered 32.36 percent of the vote this week. Villa isn’t far behind, with his opening strike in NYCFC’s home-opening win against the New England Revolution at Yankee Stadium pulling in 24.39 percent.


Portland Timbers forward Fanendo Adi’s first-half goal against the LA Galaxy (22.04 percent), Galaxy forward Alan Gordon’s late equalizer from the same match (11.95 percent) and Dallas attacker Fabián Castillo’s tally against Sporting Kansas City (9.26 percent) round out the field.


Be sure to cast your ballot before the deadline late on Thursday night. The Goal of the Week winner will be announced on Friday on the basis of your online votes.
