The Olympic Stadium will be rocking.
Tickets for the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions League final between the Montreal Impact and Club América at the Big O on April 29 have almost sold out. A Montreal Impact spokesperson told MLSsoccer.com on Thursday that the stadium’s capacity – more than 58,000 for the occasion – is close to being reached.
During their current CCL run, Montreal drew 38,104 fans to Stade Olympique for the quarterfinal second leg against Pachuca and 33,675 for the semifinal first leg against Alajuelense. Last week, they sold 45,000 tickets for the second leg of the final in the first three days of sales alone.
The 58,000-strong crowd will enter the top three highest-attended games in CONCACAF Champions League history. Last Tuesday, Club América established a new record with 66,208 supporters at Estadio Azteca, and they may well break it in the first leg of the final, on April 22.

The previous record was the Impact’s: 55,571 people saw them beat Santos Laguna 2-0 in the first leg of their 2009 CCL quarterfinal tie.
Montreal’s all-time attendance record was established on May 12, 2012. With a different seating configuration, the Impact welcomed 60,860 supporters at Olympic Stadium for a 1-1 draw against David Beckham’s LA Galaxy.
