Chicago Fire FC's players may not yet have been able to play a game at Soldier Field in 2020, but the team's supporters returned to the stadium for the first time on Sunday.

In the first event held at the iconic stadium since the club announced they would be returning after 14 years away, Chicago Fire FC and Continental Tire’s Drive-In Matchday allowed fans in 300 cars to take in the team's MLS is Back Tournament game against the San Jose Earthquakes on two huge LED screens.

The event was held on the Waldron Deck at Soldier Field and featured the club's new play-by-play announcer Tyler Terens as the PA. The fans in attendance were also treated to the debut of giant flags featuring each of the team's starting XI.

While the Fire were unable to give their fans back home a victory to celebrate on the night, going down 2-0 to San Jose in Orlando, they remain in with a chance of making it through to the Round of 16 going into the final group game against the Vancouver Whitecaps on Thursday (9 am ET | ESPN, ESPN Deportes in US; TSN in Canada).
