After nearly three weeks since their last match, the Chicago Fire will finally return to action on Friday, kicking off the first of five-straight nationally televised UDN Friday night doubleheaders with a home date against expansion club New York City FC. The Fire will no doubt be well rested for the clash, though they may need to shake off a bit of rust in order to extend their winning streak to three games. New York City FC enters on a different kind of run, having lost three of their last four and gone winless in their last five.

  • The Chicago Fire return to action following a two-week layoff, their last match their second win in as many games, a 3-2 win against Toronto FC on April 4 at Toyota Park. The Fire are in a tie for sixth place in the Eastern Conference with six points from five matches.
  • New York City FC had their winless run stretched to five matches, falling by the game’s lone goal in a loss to the Portland Timbers on Sunday afternoon at Yankee Stadium. NYCFC are in a tie for sixth place in the Eastern Conference with six points from seven matches.
