COLORADO RAPIDS vs VANCOUVER WHITECAPS FC
DICK’S SPORTING GOODS PARK, Commerce City, Colo.
May 23, 2015 (WEEK 12, MLS Game #116)
7 p.m. MT (Altitude; TSN1)

Two teams at opposite ends of the Western Conference table meet when the Colorado Rapids play host to Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday evening at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. The Rapids sit at the foot of the West standings, returning to action after a postponement last weekend, their last match a fourth consecutive draw in a 1-1 result with San Jose two weeks ago. Whitecaps FC sit a point out of the top spot in the division, coming off a 2-0 home loss to Seattle Sounders FC a week ago, though they advanced to the Canadian Championship final at midweek.

  • The Rapids will put their streak of four consecutive draws and five games without a victory on the line against Whitecaps FC after their scheduled match at Sporting Kansas City on Saturday evening was postponed due to storms.
  • Whitecaps FC hit the road after a third home loss in seven games this season at BC Place, Seattle Sounders FC taking a 2-0 win Saturday afternoon.
  • The Rapids took two of the three meetings between the clubs a year ago, including a 2-1 win at Vancouver on April 5, the second victory ever for the Rapids at BC Place.
  • The Rapids have won the last three meetings between the teams at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park; Whitecaps FC won there in 2012 for their lone triumph on the Rapids’ home ground.
