Dwyer heading to free agency after Orlando contract expires
TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Out-of-contract
Veteran forward Dom Dwyer will enter free agency as his Orlando City contract expires at the end of the year, the club announced Wednesday.
Dwyer, 30, joined Orlando in 2017 from Sporting Kansas City in potentially the biggest allocation trade in league history, which could rise up to $1.6 million after incentives. He didn't quite live up to the price tag in recent seasons, but managed 24 goals and nine assists in 67 appearances with the club.
He made just two appearances in 2020 due to a knee injury.
Dwyer made his debut in 2012 with SKC but exploded a few years later, with 22 goals in the 2014 season. All in all, he has 81 goals and 18 assists in 195 MLS appearances.
Due to his service time in the league, Dwyer enters free agency.
