Goal of the Week update: Seattle Sounders' Obafemi Martins eludes all opposition in Week 24 return

AT&T MLS Goal of the Week update: A comeback to come in first?

In an MLS week that included thrilling finishes, a comfortable win contained one of the most impressive tallies.

After six weeks on the sideline, Seattle Sounders forward Obafemi Martins returned from injury to blow away the field with the first of two goals against Orlando, a slaloming run currently registering 45.51 percent of the vote, more than 35 percentage points ahead of second-place Portland Timbers defender Nat Borchers, whose header tipped the balance in extra time.

Recently re-signed Vancouver Whitecaps captain Pedro Morales is in third place with 14.14 percent, while Sporting KC late-game hero Paulo Nagamura and NYCFC star David Villa round out the voting with 11.06 percent and 9.52 percent, respectively.

Will Martins elude opposition all the way to a win? Or will we have yet another wild finish in Week 24? Vote now – the winner will be announced on Friday.

Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thursdays. For complete coverage of the AT&T MLS Goal of the Week – including an archive of all of this season’s nominees and winners – click here
