Former LA Galaxy academy standout and current US men's national team winger Uly Llanez has a new home for the 2020/21 season.
Llanez has joined Dutch club SC Heerenveen on loan from Wolfsburg for the season, as the player should be set for regular playing time in the Eredivisie. He was handed the No. 7 jersey.
The 19-year-old winger made his debut with the US national team over the winter, scoring the lone goal in the USMNT's 1-0 win over Costa Rica on February 1.
Llanez joined Wolfsburg's U-19 squad after leaving the Galaxy academy last year and immediately showed his quality, with 11 goals and six assists in 16 appearances for the youth team. He is yet to make his Bundesliga debut, but was called into the senior squad towards the end of the 2019/20 season.
Heerenveen finished 10th (out of 18 teams) in the truncated 2019/20 Eredivisie season.
