Dominic Oduro has played for seven MLS teams over his 13-year professional career, which might seem like a lot – but it's a pittance compared to the number of hairstyles he's rocked during that time.
You already knew this, of course. The many follicular looks of “Birdman” are MLS legend by now.
We thought that ode to the colors of his homeland, Ghana, was pretty bold back in his Columbus days (pictured at right), but he soon took things to the next level.
There was the reddish dreaded fauxhawk in Toronto – soon followed by the conversion to a blue, Quebec-inspired number after his trade to TFC's rivals the Montreal Impact.
Of course there was also this brave tribute to breast cancer awareness. And who on earth could forget Oduro's legendary “pizza head” stunt, in all its colorful, realistic pepperoni-and-cheese glory?
Now the Ghanaian speedster has unveiled his latest coiffure, and it might be his most complex, nuanced work yet.
Is it an artistic night-time scene centered around a crescent moon? A series of abstract shapes and swoops to play up his pace like racing stripes on a roadster? Or something even more stylized?
We know this much: With all that hair greatness buzzing around right at eye level, the Philadelphia Union defense will have to maintain razor-sharp concentration when they visit the Impact for a classic “six-pointer” in the Eastern Conference playoff race at Stade Saputo on Saturday night (8 pm ET, MLS LIVE).
