Charlie Davies has been on an absolute tear since entering New England’s first XI on March 28, starting all five of the Revs’ wins and helping the club to their six-game unbeaten streak.


The 28-year-old scored his third goal in as many games on Saturday night, giving New England an early lead in their 2-1 win against the New York Red Bulls with a spectacular ninth-minute diving header.


He followed his goal with an equally high-quality celebration, taking a dig at the Red Bulls with a bullfighting blowout. Davies played the matador, running to the corner before pulling the old Olé on teammates Juan Agudelo – an ex-Red Bull – and Teal Bunbury, who put the finishing touches on the Revs’ wonderfully worked second goal.
