It’s a huge match in the heart of the Eastern Conference when the New England Revolution face Toronto FC on Saturday evening at Gillette Stadium. The teams enter the match tied for fourth place in the East, with second place just three points further ahead. The Revolution are coming off a second result after a five-game losing skid, coming back for a 2-2 draw at the Chicago Fire last weekend, while Toronto FC are undefeated in their last three games, coming back for a dramatic 3-3 draw with the Columbus Crew SC last weekend on the road.

  • The Revolution were able to get a second result on the heels of a five-game losing run, Kelyn Rowe scoring a late equalizer for a 2-2 draw with the Chicago Fire on Saturday evening at Toyota Park.
  • Toronto FC extended their undefeated run to three games – with nine goals scored in that time – coming back from three goals down for a 3-3 draw at the Columbus Crew SC. Sebastian Giovinco scored his 13th goal and added his 10th assists; he has 13 goals and 9 assists on TFC’s last 27 goals, dating back to April 4.
  • The teams are meeting for the second time this season. Juan Agudelo scored to give the Revolution a first-half lead, but Michael Bradley netted after the break to leave the teams in a 1-1 draw May 16 at Gillette Stadium.
  • The Revolution have won the last two meetings in Foxborough. TFC have not defeated the Revolution at home since 2010, a 1-0 win May 22 at BMO Field. The teams then played to three successive draws in Toronto, before the two New England victories a year ago.
