Orlando City SC have reportedly come to terms with Ecuadorian forward Alexander Alvarado.


Fabian Gallardo reports the 21-year-old has completed a four-year deal with Orlando, will sign the contract Sunday and will travel to Florida Monday. The Lions are thin up front after injuries to Dom Dwyer and Tesho Akindele.

Alvarado, who primarily has featured as a left wing, but can also play on the right, has played for SD Aucas since 2018. He’s scored six goals and had 14 assists in 88 appearances across all competitions, including one goal and four assists this season in league play. Alvarado has also scored against Velez Sarsfield in the first round of the Copa Sudamericana.


Alvarado, who played for Independiente del Valle and SD Quioto youth sides before signing with Gualaceo in 2017.


After coming up through Ecuador’s youth ranks, including competing in the U-20 World Cup last year against the United States, Alvarado played for the national team in substitute appearances in international friendlies against Bolivia and Argentina.
