Orlando City SC vs. Philadelphia Union
CITRUS BOWL, Orlando, Fla.
August 8, 2015 (MLS Game #227)
7:30 pm ET (MLS LIVE)

A pair of clubs looking to move back into playoff places meet when Orlando City SC takes on Philadelphia Union for the first time, Saturday evening at the Citrus Bowl. Orlando City sit a point out of the top six and the postseason positions, following their 4-1 loss at Toronto FC at midweek. Union have suffered three consecutive losses, a further five points behind OCSC, after their 3-1 home loss to the New York Red Bulls at PPL Park last Saturday.

  • The five goals scored by Orlando City SC in the home win against Columbus Crew SC were the most in the club’s MLS history – and came on the heels of a 5-3 defeat at New York City FC, a club record for the most goals they had conceded in their MLS existence. The win also snapped a three-game losing slide, also the club’s MLS record.
  • Sebastien Le Toux scored for a second consecutive game, but Union still suffered a third consecutive defeat, falling 3-1 to the New York Red Bulls on Saturday evening at PPL Park. Cristian Maidana collected an assist, his sixth assist in the five games; he now has 11 assists for the season, one off the MLS lead.
  • This is the first meeting ever between the clubs. They will play a return match at PPL Park on the final weekend of the season as part of Decision Day.
