With three victories in their last four games, the Philadelphia Union will be looking to continue their winning ways and remain within striking distance of Eastern Conference-leading Columbus Crew SC Saturday night when they host a New England Revolution team seeking a second straight road win.

The Union (5W-2L-3D) are coming off an convincing 3-0 win over the New York Red Bulls at Red Bull Arena, while the Revs (3W-2L-5D) knocked off Chicago Fire FC at Soldier Field in Week 10.

The teams shared the points in both of their last two regular season games, including a 0-0 draw at Gillette Stadium on August 20. The Union beat the Revs 1-0 in the Round of 16 of the MLS is Back Tournament.

Philadelphia Union

The Homegrowns shined at Red Bull Arena with Brenden Aaronson and Matt Real scoring a goal apiece to lead the Union to a 3-0 win over the Red Bulls Sunday night. It was their second win over their rivals in 13 days after also claiming a 1-0 triumph at Subaru Park on August 25.

Aaronson's goal, a stunning strike from 22 yards out, was particularly pleasing for coach Jim Curtin. Aaronson believes that finishing touch is what he needs to become a great No. 10.

"Brenden Aaronson obviously finds a good pocket in what we call the green zone and obviously the shot he hits is a special one," Curtin said after the match. "I was mad at him because he was in that green zone a couple times earlier and his first touch let him down. But overall now to finish that one from distance is something we’re proud of and all the hard work he’s put in in front of goal is paying off for him and our team. He deserves the credit there."

New England Revolution

Teal Bunbury struck for a brace to lift the Revs to a 2-1 win over Chicago Fire FC Sunday night at Soldier Field. It was an important bounce-back from a disappointing 2-0 home loss to NYCFC in the midweek. Strangely, all three of the Revs wins this season have come away from their home stadium.

"I think we’ve had a tough time in Gillette because the opposition understands the difficulty playing there and they’ve made it real tough for us," Bruce Arena said after the game. "We haven’t been good enough to play through the pressure and make the kind of adjustments we need to make. We can’t use Gillette as an excuse. We need to be better as a team. Hopefully, the next time we’re back at Gillette, we’re going to give it a better performance and hopefully earn three points.”

On Tuesday, the Revs announced Lee Nyugen was returning to Foxborough with a fourth-round selection in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft and up to $50,000 in General Allocation Money heading to Inter Miami CF.
