Ruiz wins Goal of the Week with long-range golazo

There were a number of goals to fly into the top corner in MLS Week 9, but only one could capture AT&T Goal of the Week honors.

Pablo Ruiz of Real Salt Lake won Goal of the Week with nearly half of the vote (48.38%) for a point-saving stunner from distance against the Seattle Sounders. Ruiz recovered the ball after a cleared corner in the 85th minute and thundered a long-range missile into the corner past a diving Stefan Frei

Orlando City's Benji Michel came in second (21.41%) for his stunning strike against Nashville SC, a game that also ended in a draw. Michel drove towards the Nashville box and laced a powerful strike from 18-yards out into the top corner.

The final three finishers all came from Los Angeles teams. Joe Corona's inch-perfect finish into the top corner in his side's 3-2 win over the Portland Timbers came in third (16.16%), followed by teammate Cristian Pavon for his brilliant solo run in the same game (9.60%).

Diego Rossi was also on the ballot (4.44%) for his sweet finish into the side-netting in LAFC's 5-1 win over the San Jose Earthquakes
