REAL SALT LAKE vs NEW YORK CITY FC
RIO TINTO STADIUM, Sandy, Utah
May 23, 2015 (WEEK 12, MLS Game #117)
8 p.m. MT (KMYU-12; YES)

Jason Kreis will make a return to Utah – this time as head coach of New York City FC – when his expansion side comes to Rio Tinto Stadium to face Real Salt Lake for the first time Saturday evening. The hosts return to their home ground coming off a 4-1 defeat at the Montréal Impact last weekend. NYCFC hit the road after seeing their winless streak extended to nine games, though they snapped a four-game losing slide with a late 2-2 draw against the Chicago Fire last week at Yankee Stadium.

  • Real Salt Lake saw a three-game unbeaten run end in a 4-1 loss at the Montréal Impact on Saturday to conclude a two-game road swing.
  • RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando saw his remarkable success continue while facing penalty kicks. For his career, Rimando has faced 68 penalty kicks total, and has seen 25 of those missed. Eight of the last 10 penalty kicks Rimando has faced in league play have not been successful.
  • NYCFC ended their four-game losing streak in dramatic fashion but still saw their winless run reach nine games, as Khiry Shelton scored a stoppage-time equalizer for his first professional goal in a 2-2 draw with the Chicago Fire on Friday evening at Yankee Stadium.
  • The only meeting between the clubs this season, it will be the first for NYCFC head coach Jason Kreis against his former club, where he guided their fortunes from 2007-13, winning MLS Cup 2009 in the process.
