While Cristian Pavon's loan with the LA Galaxy expires at the end of the current season, the MLS club might be able to land the winger from Boca Juniors for a fee above $10 million, according to a new report from TyC Sports.

The Galaxy could guarantee his move if they paid the $20-million buyout fee attached to his loan deal, a sum that has always been viewed as unrealistic.

It's unclear whether an outlay of around half that number would be more feasible for the Galaxy, but it would apparently be enough to have Boca consider moving on from the 24-year-old, and using any incoming fee to seek a replacement.

Pavon has been red hot in 2020, registering six goals and four assists in nine league matches for the Galaxy, who have won four in a row after a rough start to the season. With Mexico all-time leading goal scorer Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez having missed LA's last six matches with a calf injury, Pavon has been a major reason why the club has still been able to earn 13 points out of 18 in that stretch.

Pavon's form is reminiscent of that he displayed during the 2017-18 Argentine Superliga, when he had six goals and 11 primary assists to help Boca finish atop the table. Current Galaxy coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto was at the helm of Boca at the time.

That run helped him earn four appearances for the Argentine national team at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, where La Albiceleste were eliminated in the round of 16.
