TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
With a number of youngsters starting to break through the LA Galaxy ranks in recent years, most notably Efra Alvarez and Julian Araujo, the club may soon call on another rising Mexican-American talent.
According to ESPN's Tom Marshall, the Galaxy have signed 15-year-old Alex Alcala to a professional contract. Alcala is eligible for either the United States or Mexico, but is currently with the Mexican U-16 international side. He is a highly-rated prospect.
Marshall also reports that Manchester City have purchased an option to acquire the player when he turns 18-years-old. He has trained with City, Barcelona and Pachuca in the past.
Nothing has been confirmed officially, but the player himself has interacted with some tweets.
Alcala was born in California.
