TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report

Struggling to see first-team minutes with Honduran giant Olimpia, forward Junior Lacayo is mulling the possibility of a loan to an unnamed MLS team, he told Honduran outlet Diez.hn.

Lacayo, who turns 25 later this month, has a green card and has one year remaining on his contract with Olimpia.

"I have an option to go abroad that they secured for me," he said. "But I want to keep going in Honduras to get my rhythm back so I don't fall flat. It's important to be in form.”

Lacayo transferred from Marathon two years ago, but playing time has been sparse. He’s made  six appearances — all in the Concacaf League, scoring once.

Lacayo didn't want to disclose the club, but he said it was "in MLS, God willing. Some know that I have my green card and that's the best thing. I've spoken to several agents, but first I have to be in form to complete."

That’s been Lacayo’s priority with the hopes the Honduran league can resume play in September.
