SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES vs. REAL SALT LAKE
AVAYA STADIUM, San Jose, Calif.
September 27, 2015 (WEEK 30, MLS Game #306)
7 pm ET (FS1, FOX Deportes)
- Chris Wondolowski scored his 15th goal this season – his sixth goal over the last seven matches – but the Quakes saw their winless run extended to four games in a 3-2 loss at New York City FC on Saturday evening.
- Devon Sandoval scored two goals in a game for the first time in his MLS career – now with three goals over the last two matches – as Real Salt Lake won their second game in a row in a 3-0 defeat of the LA Galaxy on Saturday evening at Rio Tinto Stadium.
- The teams are meeting for the third time this season. Javier Morales scored the game’s lone goal just before halftime to lead Real to a victory April 5 at Avaya Stadium; an early goal by San Jose’s Chris Wondolowski was canceled out by a late own goal to leave the teams in a 1-1 tie May 1 at Rio Tinto Stadium.
- The Quakes haven’t defeated RSL at home since the final meeting in 2012, a 5-0 San Jose victory that is the largest win in the all-time series, having now played to three consecutive draws in San Jose. The Quakes have won on two of their last five trips to Rio Tinto Stadium (with one draw).
