Save of the Week update: Bush and Shuttleworth in dead heat for honors

MLS Save of the Week: Week 19

The Week 19 Save of the Week race is coming down to a dead heat.

Montreal goalkeeper Evan Bush is running just ahead of New England ‘keeper Bobby Shuttleworth for the award, with the Impact goalkeeper holding 32.64 percent of the vote – scarcely two percentage points ahead of second-place Shuttleworth, who has 30.38 percent of the tally.

Bush is nominated for his diving stop of Columbus midfielder Tony Tchani in Montreal’s 3-0 win over Crew SC, while Shuttleworth is in the running for his incredible PK and rebound save on the New York Red Bulls’ Sal Zizzo.

Seattle’s Troy Perkins, Houston’s Tyler Deric and Chicago’s Sean Johnson round out the standings, with Perkins in third with 17.66 percent of the vote, Deric in fourth with 13.01 percent and Johnson bringing up the rear with 6.31 percent.

There’s still time to weigh in on the race. Vote now for your favorite save – the winner will be announced on Friday.

Voting runs until 11:59 pm PT on Thusdays. For complete coverage of the AT&T MLS Save of the Week – including an archive of all of this season’s nominees and winners – click here.
