There's something "major" brewing in Kansas City.
Sporting Kansas City announced Monday morning that they will host two events, a press conference and fan forum, on Tuesday to accompany the announcement of a "major player signing". There were no details as to who the player is in the club's press release, but CEO Robb Heineman offered a big clue on Sunday night by tweeting out a photo of a presumed Roger Espinoza jersey.
Espinoza has been linked for months with a return to Sporting KC, who also have not been shy in admitting their interest in him. The Honduran international was with the club from 2008-2012 before joining Wigan Athletic on a free transfer in January 2013.
At Wigan, Espinoza made 43 league apperances and scored two goals in his two years with the English club.
