Sporting Kansas City announced on Wednesday the signing of third-round draft pick James Ansu Rogers, the club's fourth addition from the 2015 MLS SuperDraft.
Rogers, who moved from Sierra Leone to the United States as an 11-year-old in 2004 and has dual citizenship, played in the youth academies of both Real Salt Lake (2008-09) and the Colorado Rapids (2009-11) and was a standout winger for the University of New Mexico from 2011-14. He has also played for US youth national teams.
A nominee for the Senior CLASS Award and one of 24 national semifinalists for Athletes for a Better World's Wooden Citizenship Cup, Rogers joines Connor Hallisey, Saad Abdul-Salaam and Amadou Dia as signed Kansas City draft picks this year.
