The trend of Argentine players heading to MLS is nothing new by now. And Toronto FC and the Montreal Impact certainly have shown a propensity to woo players from Italy’s Serie A.
So could it be a match made in heaven between one of those two Canadian clubs and Argentine international and former Internazionale center back Hugo Campagnaro. Reports out of Italy have implied as much, linking the 34-year-old to both TFC and Montreal following the expiration of his two-year deal with Inter.
Over two seasons, Campagnaro made 31 appearances with the Italian outfit. He also started one game in Brazil for World Cup runner up Argentina, their tournament-opening defeat of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but didn’t feature for the remainder of the tournament.
Campagnaro started his career with Argentine club Deportivo Moron before going on to play for Italian clubs Piacenza, Sampdoria and Napoli.
